What is in this list
A TPA appears once, not once per state. The same administrator shows up on the North Carolina, South Dakota, Iowa, Massachusetts and California rosters under 5 slightly different legal names, so names were normalised and the rows merged. Where an administrator is licensed in more than 1 state the row says how many rather than picking one, because a state filter that answers 'California' for a national administrator would be wrong.
State licence rosters are point-in-time documents. A revoked New Jersey licence is still a public record and is kept, labelled, rather than quietly dropped.
Every row carries at least one checkable fact, and 303 rows that could not were removed. Nearly all came from one commercial directory that sells listings across every insurance service and files them under broad categories: scraped whole, its TPA category returned a patent law firm, a CPA practice, a lead-inspection lab and a catastrophe modelling firm. A listing there is a purchase, not a registration, so it is not treated as evidence of anything.
What each row does show is where the fact came from. 'Registered with' names a state that has entered the company on its own public register. 'Also listed in' names a publisher that put the company on a list, which is a weaker thing and is worded as one.
Why record review reaches TPAs
A workers' comp file is a stack of treatment notes, IME reports, utilisation review letters and billing, usually arriving in the wrong order and often duplicated 3 times over. The adjuster has to know what happened, in what order, and what the treating physician and the examiner actually disagree about.
Medrecords AI reads the file at about 100 pages a minute and returns a dated chronology with a page citation on every line, duplicates removed and billed only once. The adjuster reviews it, revises it and decides. The software does not make claims decisions.
